Implementing a Heart Safe Community Site Program
Project ADAM affiliates strive to assist schools and communities in establishing a practiced plan to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest.
A local Community Site that has implemented the areas within the Program Checklist demonstrates they are prepared for a cardiac emergency by ensuring staff and visitors have access to AEDs, people trained in CPR/AED and a practiced plan.
Assess Readiness
Community Site Program Checklist
As an initial assessment of cardiac emergency preparedness for your site, complete the Community Site Program Checklist. Contact your local Project ADAM Program Coordinator for additional support. If you do not have an affiliate program in your state, use this tool as an assessment and guide to create a program to ensure your Community Site is prepared for a cardiac emergency.
Develop your Plan
Heart Safe Community Site Toolkit
A Community Site can learn how to fulfill each criteria of the Community Site Program Checklist by following the steps outlined in the toolkit.
Refer to the Project ADAM Heart Safe School section for additional program planning templates that can be customized for a Community Site.
